Hello.
My name is Curt Barford. I am a 2003 graduate of the College of the
Holy
Cross with a B.A. in Chemistry. During
my two years of graduate student teaching at Notre Dame I came to
realize that
my real desire was not working in a research lab, but working in a
classroom. It is for this realization
that changed the course of my life. I
returned to the capital region in order to attend the University at
Albany with
the ultimate goal of becoming a high school chemistry teacher. In December 2007 I completed my studies at
the University at Albany, graduating with a M.S. in General Education
Studies. This was then followed in August
2008 with the
issuing of my Initial Teaching Certificate in Chemistry 7-12. With this goal accomplished I am now looking
forward to completing my ultimate goal of becoming a full time teacher
of high
school chemistry. I welcome
this opportunity in order to help students develop the same
joy for
science that I have.
