Amedeo Avogadro
Amedeo Avogadro found that at the same temperature and pressure all gasses with the same volume will contain the same number of particles (molecules or atoms, depending on the gas). The number of atoms/molecules within a mole of a substance (6.02X10^23) was named in his honor (Avogadro’s number).
