Getting to Know Chemists
Getting to Know Chemists
You have heard about many chemists in your studies. These are more than just names on a page, however, they were/are real people. In this album you will be able to see images of some of the scientists that have played an important role in the field of chemistry. By clicking on each picture you will be able to learn a little about each scientist. Additional scientists will be added over the next few weeks, so please check back periodically.

Amedeo Avogadro

Amedeo Avogadro found that at the same temperature and pressure all gasses with the same volume will contain the same number of particles (molecules or atoms, depending on the gas). The number of atoms/molecules within a mole of a substance (6.02X10^23) was named in his honor (Avogadro’s number).
